Our Soulful Beginnings

Every journey to do good inspires the soul and moves the heart.

In 2022, while raising money for AIDS charity as one of 2,000 cyclists, Glen Brown lost his life in a tragic one-person accident.   The loss of Glen and the grief his huge social circle has experienced has led us to found Glen’s Friends.

We could think of no better name for our organization, because just as Glen—and any true friend—would do, we are here for you. We’re on a mission to share Glen’s huge heart and his love for all by helping to meet the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social needs of the LGBTQ+ community, and beyond.

This is no small task, and that’s why we’re starting organically, building Glen’s Friends one heart at a time. To learn more about the needs of the LGBTQ+ community and how best to address them, we are meeting neighbors and friends in focus groups, town hall meetings, and around the kitchen table. If you live in the Chicagoland area and would like to be part of our discovery sessions, please complete the short form below and we will be in touch. We would love to chat!

To kick off our philanthropic efforts we will be giving away a limited number of copies of The Book of Pride: LGBTQ Heroes Who Changed the World by Mason Funk.

Please join us as we work to carry on Glen’s legacy, cultivating a world where every soul can experience the boundless joy of loving and being loved.
